Planted. The Market Farm

Why?

Planted. The Market Farm exists in order to serve our community and improve our environment. This mission is driven by our passion of playing in the dirt.

CJ & Callie

CJ and Callie began their farming journeys on separate paths, and each developed a deep respect for the land and a passion for sustainable agriculture. CJ started Planted. The Market Farm in Plano, Kentucky, in 2024, on family land. Their stories came together last year when they reconnected at the Community Farmers Market on Nashville Road. A shared vision quickly took root, and they began building something meaningful together. As they continue to grow, they hope to one day find a permanent place they can farm and call home.

Their approach to farming is grounded in sustainability and care for the environment. After witnessing the harmful effects chemicals can have on ecosystems when working in the golf industry, CJ only implements organic practices at Planted. They run a no-till farm that focuses on more than just producing high-quality food. They work to improve soil health, support wildlife habitat, and protect surrounding ecosystems. They also keep their land distant from large-scale farms that rely on pesticides. Through their participation in a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, they prioritize both environmental stewardship and community connection. For CJ and Callie, farming is more than a livelihood; it’s a way to nurture the land and the people around them.
