River Bend Blooms

why?

"I farm because it's who I am, it's who my people have always been. And I want to build a place for my family for future generations, so that they always have this option. Because like, we're just tenants here. This is such an incredibly beautiful place, and I want to preserve it. It will never be anything but a farm."

Michelle Wheeler

Michelle Wheeler is a Kentucky-based flower farmer, entrepreneur, and lifelong steward of agriculture. Raised on a large, irrigated row-crop farm in the Midwest, she earned an agricultural degree and spent years in ag chemical sales before returning to hands-on production.

After her family lost their farm in the 1980s, she and her husband rebuilt their agricultural life. They first ran a successful vegetable Community Supported Agriculture and market operation, then pivoted to specialty cut flowers in 2019. Her flower business grew rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the emotional power of flowers drove strong local demand. She built the operation from the ground up and has grown the business to expand distribution from Paducah to Cincinnati and Nashville. As a passionate seventh-generation farmer, Michelle is dedicated to preserving land, family legacy, and the beauty of agricultural life. She views farming as a purpose-driven way of life and sees flowers as a simple way to bring joy to others.
